Why the firm exists
Our leadership team spent years running public sector consulting engagements and consistently struggled to find MWBE resources capable of contributing as full members of a strategy or execution team. The market was supplying certificates. We started 1mpact First to supply consultants.
Where the firm's judgment comes from
Before founding 1mpact First in 2013, our managing partner spent more than a decade in public sector consulting and government — including two years as Chief Information Officer of a state financial regulator, running a 75-person, $10MM IT department through the state's centralization of IT services and building the agency's first consolidated IT budget after a merger of two departments; and, as a consultant, redesigning that regulator's consumer-complaints and rate-review processes and building the staffing model a city parks department took to the Mayor's office. That is the seat our clients sit in, and it is why we brief the way we do.
